Aka Butt Splice Connectors are used, mostly, for connecting copper or aluminium electrical wire conductors in cable assemblies.

They can also be used for straight splicing of earth lines.

For stranded (class 2), multi-stranded (class 5) and very flexible (class 6) Cu conductors according to IEC 60228.
